I've sent away the registration for Rio, should have it back soon. He is growing, and is proving to have an excellent disposition. He's curious and friendly, investigates everyone who comes to see him, is easy to catch, picks up all 4 feet, even out in the pasture without a halter, leads well, loves to be petted and scratched. The next phase will be teaching him to stand tied, just waiting for some dry weather for that. His feet will be checked this month, and balanced if necessary by my barefoot hoof care provider.
This colt has it all- good conformation, good disposition, and athleticism. While we won't know his finished color for another month or two, it looks like he will be dark like his mama, a smoky black. The following photos were taken May 27, he will be 7 weeks on May 29.
